Large "Kitty" doll

This hand made English wooden doll is a limited special edition!

Her size is larger than my typical dolls. She is inspired by the much loved wooden doll in the Colonial Williamsburg's Millinery Shop in the classic cobalt blue taffeta gown. 

She wears a removeable English gown in blue taffeta featuring a stomacher embelished with a white satin bow.  Her blue gown is trimmed in pinked ivory silk. Her sleeves are accented with single ruffles pinked and whip gathered. The organza and lace trimmed sleeve flounces add to the extra elegance! Under it all, she wears a linen shift with a lace trim at the neckline. 

Her hair is made of dark brown wool coiffed into an elegant up do with buckle curls on the sides and a braid in the back.

"Kitty" is hand painted with the classic dotted eyelashes and pink lips!

If you would like to add a necklace, there are two options in seperate listings. 

*She is a prototype, so there are some changes in the legs. Because she is more heavy than my other dolls, I had to try a few different tactics to make her legs sturdy. I decided on screws and there is a fine hair line (superficial) split that has been glued. I wanted to be on the safe side! 

She will be my only large size doll for the near future! I would love to make more (and larger) dolls, but I only have a mini lathe right now. The mini lathe did not like the larger blocks of wood and I'm afraid it might break if I attempted it again!!
